Itinerary

DAY 1 ZAGREB
Arrival at Zagreb airport and transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 2 ZAGREB - RIJEKA
Morning city tour of Zagreb including a pleasant stroll through the Upper town of Zagreb and visit to the Cathedral and St. Mark's church. Lunch and departure for Rijeka , Croatia`s largest harbour situated at the heart of the Kvarner Bay.
Dinner and overnight in Rijeka.

DAY 3 RIJEKA - excursion to the Island of KRK
Departure for Krk to visit the Franciscan monastery on the islet of Košljun, significant for its collection of Glagolitic manuscripts and incunabula. Lunch at Vrbnik, a picturesque town situated upon a steep hill. We shall visit the Glagolitic script exhibition in Rijeka.
Dinner and overnight in Rijeka.

DAY 4 RIJEKA - PAZIN - SV. PETAR U SUMI - ROVINJ - POREC
Departure for Pazin to admire the lively colored Gothic frescoes in the parish church. Lunch at Sveti Petar u Sumi (St. Peter in the Woods) is followed by a visit to the 12th century Benedictine Monastery, redecorated in various styles. Continuation to our drive to Rovinj, walk through its narrow cobbled streets up to the church of St. Euphemia. Dinner and overnight in Porec.

DAY 5 POREC - BERAM - MOTOVUN - POREC
This morning we shall visit the magnificent Euphrasius basilica, classified as a UNESCO` s World Cultural Monument. Departure for Beram to visit the church of St. Mary on Skriljine, containing the most famous Croatian Gothic frescoes, work of the local painter Vincent of Kastav. Twenty-six compositions show Biblical Themes among which is the famous Dance Macabre. Lunch en route. Departure for Motovun, a fortified medieval town on the hilltop overlooking the dense chestnut wood. Return to Porec for dinner and overnight.

DAY 6 POREC - GROZNJAN - HUM - OPATIJA
After breakfast, departure for Groznjan, one of the most picturesque fortified towns in Istria,surrounded by medieval walls and situated on a hill above the river Mirna. Continuation to Hum, "the smallest town in the world" with its towers and an impressive medieval town gate. After lunch, we leave for Opatija. Dinner and overnight in Opatija.

DAY 7 OPATIJA - ZAGREB
Arrival in Zagreb at lunchtime. Free afternoon to take a walk or visit one of numerous galleries or museum.

DAY 8 ZAGREB / Departure
After breakfast, transfer to the Zagreb airport for your flight home.
